If you’re dairy free or even vegan, it can be hard finding healthy, pure, organic alternatives to Americas favorite dessert, ice cream. There are some great dairy free ice creams using coconut milk, however they can be expensive. Now you can make your own ice cream using only bananas, inexpensive and healthy. What could be better? I don’t know…

This raw banana ice cream is topped with a raw chocolate sauce. It’s delicious and satisfying. Try adding different toppings or even mix your favorite nut butter into the bananas for added flavor!

Serves: 2 Total time: 3 min

Ingredients

For Ice cream:
3 organic frozen bananas (take peal off before freezing)

For Sauce:
2 tablespoons organic raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon organic raw coconut nectar
2 teaspoons organic raw coconut oil
1 tablespoon organic raw cacao nibs
A few chopped organic raw nuts (I used walnuts)

Directions
1) Blend bananas in a food processor until creamy and ice cream like.

2) Mix together cacao powder, coconut nectar, and coconut oil (melted) until creamy.

3) Scoop bananas into a bowl then top with the sauce, cacao nibs and chopped nuts. Devour and enjoy!

Note: for more ice cream just use more bananas. If adding a nut butter add it to the bananas while you’re blending them.
– Once stored in freezer, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 10-15 min before serving.
